It is a summer festival with a pedigree of over 300 years at Kifune-jinja Shrine in Amagasaki City. The festival takes place on the evenings of August 1 and 2. On the first day, 8 Mikoshi (portable shrines) makes its way in a parade from Hanshin Electric Railway Amagasaki Station. On the second day, two Mikoshi square off and clash into each other. This is called 'Yama-awase', the clash of the mountains. The sight of the two mikoshi clashing into each other is a thrilling spectacle. Many festival stalls also spring up around the town.
