Kappa "Gataro and Gajiro"

It is the text from here.

In the pond in Tsujikawayama Park, Fukusaki-cho, there are two dolls of kappa, a river monster of Japanese lore. This kappa is a reproduction of Gataro, a kappa character who appears in the writings of folklorist Kunio Yanagita (1875–1962) who was born in Fukusaki-cho. One kappa is on the banks of the pond and the other is hiding inside the pond. The kappa in the pond pops out from the water every 30 minutes from 9am to 6pm.
