Tajima Great Buddha (Choraku-ji Temple)

Choraku-ji Temple was inaugurated approximately 1,300 years ago. One of the world’s largest wooden statues of seated Buddha are housed here. There are 15m-tall three great Buddhas, collectively known as Tajima Great Buddha in the temple precinct, and many stone Buddhas are recessed in the temple walls. Other notable structures on the temple grounds include a five-storied pagoda and the main temple gate. Visitors are welcome to climb to the top of the five-storied pagoda, which stands 70m high.
