Hokudan Earthquake Memorial Park was built to preserve the memory of Great Hanshin Awaji Earthquake on January 17, 1995. The park preserves a section of Nojima Fault, which was exposed by the earthquake. In Earthquake Experience Hall you can experience 40 seconds of shaking at seismic intensity level 7, the fearsome power of nature unleashed on that day. In Memorial House, you can see a house exhibited as it appeared right after the earthquake. There is also a restaurant and a souvenir shop.
